I chose Gander Mountain’s website because it is informative
and great marketing as well as easily navigable. Every shopping site has a search bar for a quick
look up, no question as to why Gander Mountain has one. Below that are tabs ranging from apparel and
footwear to fishing and boating.
Hovering over each of the tabs gives a drop down tab coving the majority
of the page with subsections per that tab.
Below the sub tabs are their online and in store deals. Adjacent to the deals section is a label ‘More
Ways To Shop’ with subsections of weekly ads, new arrivals, promotions, and
rebates.
Gander Mountain’s design is obvious to make online shopping
and/or viewing items while away from the story quick and easy. If someone can’t find what they’re looking
for in a short amount of time, the shopper will get agitated and likely go to a
competitor store such as Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s. With a good site design, the user will find
what they’re looking for and either buy directly from the online store or go to
a store and view the items there.
