3 - Casey Andrews

By looking at the why rather than the what, we are able to infer about the belief the designers of IndyX.org had of the overall focus in making this website. At first glance it seems as if the website was made just to inform the residents of the Indianapolis area, what was happening in their city. I think that the true reason/belief the designers had to make the website is to not just inform the people of what is happening but for people to gain connections throughout their city. Throughout the website it gives you many ways in which you can connect with your peers, one of the ways they connect people is through the obvious social media but they also give you the page of Community. The Community page allows users to go to social events to meet new people with common interests. To me this shows a true interest in connecting the users of this website.

  1. Good thinking with specific evidence from the site itself to support your views. The screenshot you chose was relevant to the point you were making, which was a good choice. Take it one step further and tie it back into the TED talk or Designing the Obvious!
