5- Casey Andrews

In my groups redesign of YouTube, we decided that we were going to improve the way that users could sort through the most popular videos. To do this we add a universal sorter to the top of the most viewed page that allowed the users to search videos by most popular of the day, 48 hours, week, month, bimonthly, yearly, and all time.

Features:
1. A cleaner homepage look, to organize videos in their specific categories
2. Give users a universal page sorter

By using the Unnecessary Testing to our project, it makes clear that some of the features that we add were not crucial to the website as a whole and that we could have gone without them. The feature that I found we could go without is putting the specific categories of all the videos on the homepage of the website. It is not vital to the website as a whole its just very nice to have for the users. I also feel even though that we could go without this feature, it is also important to what we were trying to do with the website.

  1. Hi Casey,

I agree with your conclusions and think it would be a good idea to keep it off the homepage, even though it's a big part of your project--maybe your category sorter could be on the search landing page?
